The easiest way for you to contact us (while networking with others) is to become a member of the website. You can also check out the job listings and fill out the application While we can't guarantee a position, it's always better to ask. Please look over the FAQ's below to help answer any questions you may have. If you still have questions for us, email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Do you accept Interns?
It depends on what we are working on. Like most video production companies, there are times where there isn't enough work to justify having more than a full crew on hand. We accept interns on a job to job basis. Basically, if we are working on a project where we need extra hands, we will be looking for some.
Do Interns get paid?
We do not pay our interns.
What is the schedule like for Interns?
That depends on the project we are working on. Let's say for instance we get hired to do a 3-day conference in a different city. The schedule would be whatever the itinerary is for that event. The schedule for that will be drastically different compared to a music video shoot or a business commercial. We will do our best to schedule people for adequate coverage of the event while also allowing the intern to learn the in's and out's of what we are doing, how to operate the equipment and be able to learn what kind of filming skills are needed for different kinds of projects.
My school schedule only allows for me to work for a couple of hours, can you accommodate that?
We do our best to accommodate everyone, but if the schedule requires us to be at a specific location for a certain amount of time, we will let you know so you can either let us know if you can help or not.
Do you accept Internships for the summer only?
We do, as long as we have enough work to justify having interns.
Do you hire Interns for employment after a certain time period?
It depends on your portfolio and your work ethic. One of the biggest things I look for is their attitude towards others and the business. If we feel that the attitude isn't right for our business, we won't pursue employment with that individual.
How will I know when you need extra Interns?
The easiest way is to build your profile on our member's section. From there, you can add a Bio and you can include links to your portfolio or other work that you have done. You can also email us at , but there's a greater chance of getting lost in the bunch.
Do you provide insurance to your Interns?
We do not. All Interns are on a volunteer basis. By accepting our invitation, you are accepting it at your own risk. Of course, we won't put you in any danger on purpose so there's nothing to worry about.
Can I use what I film with South Town Productions in my portfolio?
It depends. Some of our clients sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), meaning that the footage we film doesn't leave the clients or South Town Productions library. If you are working on such a project, you will not be able to use the footage legally. If you are included in a project that doens't have the NDA, then you can use the footage as long as you state that you filmed it with South Town Productions as an Intern.
