About Adam
Adam Garcia’s story doesn’t begin with a camera.
It begins with a promise.
Growing up on the east side of Lubbock, Texas, Adam learned early what it meant to rebuild from nothing. His childhood was marked by instability and resilience — a quiet stretch of time where imagination became both refuge and compass. Storytelling wasn’t just an interest; it was survival. Those early years shaped the filmmaker he would one day become.
In 2009, Adam picked up a camera and founded South Town Productions with instinct and determination. No roadmap. No safety net. Just curiosity and the drive to create. Weddings led to commercials. Commercials led to music videos. Each project sharpened the craft — built through trial, error, and grit.
Instinct built momentum. Education built mastery.
Adam earned a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography and later a Master of Science in Digital Marketing from Full Sail University. The degrees didn’t replace his natural eye — they refined it. They brought structure to intuition, strategy to creativity, and discipline to storytelling.
As South Town grew, so did his leadership.
Adam has served on the board of the Lubbock Latino Chamber of Commerce of the South Plains and currently contributes to multiple advisory boards focused on industry development and creative workforce growth. These roles reflect not only his commitment to storytelling, but to building infrastructure for the next generation of creators. He now serves as the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications for the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering at Texas Tech University. Across campus and beyond, he is known for cinematic storytelling, emotional clarity, and the ability to take an idea from spark to screen with purpose.
Meanwhile, South Town Productions has evolved far beyond its early days. Today, it collaborates with artists, record labels, nonprofits, and businesses nationwide — including ongoing partnerships with Cranked Up Records and rising music acts. Adam’s work spans music videos, commercials, campaigns, websites, and branded content — each project shaped by his signature blend of strategy and story.
In 2026, South Town Productions received a Bronze Telly Award for cinematography/videography for the music video Happy by Nine Left Dead. The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens and are judged by leaders from companies such as Netflix, HBO, and Google. For Adam, the recognition represented more than industry validation — it was proof that stories born from grit, purpose, and creative conviction could resonate on a national stage.
Whether directing on set, crafting narrative in the edit, or guiding a client toward clarity, Adam brings every project back to one belief:
Every story deserves to be told with honesty, humanity, and cinematic intention.
From a kid finding refuge in imagination to a filmmaker shaping stories seen across the country, Adam’s journey reflects what storytelling can do — not just for an audience, but for the person willing to build something lasting.
South Town began as instinct. Today it’s built with intention.
