Armstrong

Over the past few months, I've been working with Armstrong to prepare for their concert that took place on September 9th at Backstage. Most people don't realize this, but when it comes to light shows that are specific to songs, it takes quite a bit of time to get done. Here's what i'm talking about.

When we finished setting up the rig, I started programming the lights. Each movement, each color sequence, each spotlight had to be programmed. Although it took a long time to get done, it was an amazing thing to work on.

My favorite songs that I programmed was was Hindsight and Relapse. I know you probably don't know what Relapse sounds like, but that should give you an incentive to see them live ;). Hindsight however is on their EP which is available on Spotify and Itunes. Here is a video I took of the light sequence for Hindsight while I was still in the programming stage.

As you can see, the Chauvet Intimidators are pretty amazing and very versatile when it comes to programming. There are tons of Gobos to choose from and with the extra prisms and frost effects in it, it really makes the light sequence unique to the show.

Here's an example of what the show looked like courtesy of MasonVPT, the drummer of the band.

All the light sequences were made possible using both Chauvet and American DJ equipment. I can't thank them enough for making such amazing products that make my job a little bit easier and also make it look like it was easy :)
